TO SEPARATE OR NOT TO SEPARATE

Vogue Italia launches Vogue Curvy and Vogue Black.... To be fair i'm confused??? Why separate the two from mainstream? Why not integrate them into the main site and just use all good models regardless of skin tone and size.??.....To top it all off they have a separate Editor-in-Large; Bethann Hardison. Why?

Maybe i'm not seeing the benefit, but black models and readers shouldn't have to be separated and given their own issue/site. Its as if its been done just to satisfy certain groups, black models should be integrated next to everyone else to be seen by all.

"WE GOTTA FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT FIGHT....

......fight for this love. If its worth having its worth fighting for...."

Poor Cheryl I'm sure it wasn't worth fighting for, hence her decision to divorce the douche bag.

Not clear on the statistics, but what do you expect from a footballer or anyone in entertainment. The chances of them cheating must be quite high.

Does love exist? Can two people be happy without one half of the pair loitering else where?

A DEFINITE PROPHET

I was very happy to hear Jacques Audiard's film A Prophet received a BAFTA for Best Film not in the English Language.

I love this film. So much so I can watch it twice.
Its very intense and inspirational (not in a criminal way but in a do what you have to do to survive kinda way). From entering prison as a lonely nobody with just €5 and a wimpish attitude to turning into a mover, shaker & a well respected Don.

I think, because the film is subtitled it really allowed me to connect with the characters and follow the story with great intense.

Very dark 7 deep. A definite one to watch.

WE TOOK OUR VITAMINS

I'm really happy I got Vitamin Water to sponsor backstage. It really kept the models, make up, hair, designers, camera men and staff going across the two days.

MY FASHION GASP: RICHARD GERE IN AMERICAN GIGOLO

Caught bits of this a couple of weeks ago and was in love with a few items Richard Gere wore. One being those glasses so chic, so elegant, so 'effing fab

That reminds me I better order it online and see the whole film.

OVER 40 DAYS

It was quite hectic planning out Fashion Mavericks that I never had enough time to make a post, its was a lot easier tweeting unfortunately. Well not too worry The Big Event is over and now i've got some form of time allowance available to post. Yippie!!!

Sometimes days are slow but most times when we look back we realise that the day passes so quickly right in front of our very eyes. 40 days may seem like a while away but so much has happened that it seems like it was only yesterday that I wrote my last post.

Well to start off, one of the biggest disasters to hit the world was the Haiti Earthquake. The earthquake happened on Tuesday, 12 January and by February 12th, an estimated three million people were affected by the quake; with reports stating between 217,000 and 230,000 people had been identified as dead, and 300,000 injured, and a staggering 1,000,000 homeless. Charities, celebrities and the worldwide public have been gathering together to raise aid, funds and send in donations to help the country through this difficult time.

The fashion industry has been quite proactive in raising awareness of the helpless with the Fashion For Haiti initiative set up by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief charity.

Another great shock to move the world is the death of Alexander McQueen. At only 40 years old Lee, as he was known to close friends and family committed suicide in his London home on February 11th  2010 where he was found dead in his wardrobe by the housekeeper.

On a lighter note Fashion Mavericks kicked off at London Fashion Week on 19th February 2010. Still awaiting some images but here's a few to give you a little taster of how it was in case you missed it.
